Tiny garage in Cornwall goes on sale for almost £100,000September 4, 2021
A tiny garage in St Ives has become one of the most expensive in the UK outside London.
The 4.5m x 2m covered parking space is on the market for £99,950, but it’s not your average garage, as it does come with a light switch.
The lucky owners can access it through electronic wooden doors that open outwards – perhaps on their way back from a nearby beach, coffee shop or wine bar.
The space is in The Digey, a prime spot in the centre of Downlong – a popular fishing quarter – which proves it really is all about location, location, location.
Nice spots nearby include The Tate, Porthmeor Beach, Fore Street, the Harbour and Bumbles Tea room.
Estate agents Harding Laity have posted a brochure online to advertise the ‘secure covered parking space’.
It reads: ‘The perfect base to explore the coastal town of St Ives from, this private undercover parking space is a stone’s throw away from local beaches, restaurants and coastal walks.’
It also highlights that whoever buys the parking space gets to avoid the hassle of hunting for a parking space during peak season – something many of us will have experienced this summer as lockdown restrictions eased and we headed to the beach in droves.
Another plus is shelter from harsh coastal winter winds.
Though if the winds are so bad, you might prefer to head indoors rather than hang around your car.
Cornwall has been dubbed ‘Britain’s second home capital’ before and it seems prices really are on track to compete.
