As fans eagerly await Netflix’s hit series The Witcher to return with its third season, the streaming giant announced a major recasting. Netflix revealed Henry Cavill will not return to the series, instead, Geralt will be played by Liam Hemsworth. 

Although season three has yet to land on screens, bosses are already looking ahead to the show’s future as they confirmed seasons four and five. 

However, it’s been revealed actor Henry Cavill has stepped down from his role as Geralt. 

He took to Instagram with a lengthy statement where he disclosed he was “passing the torch” to Hunger Games star Liam. 

Taking to social media, Liam confirmed: “As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia.”
