Strictly’s Tilly Ramsay breaks down in tears as she gets surprise video message from her nan

Strictly Come Dancing star Tilly Ramsay broke down in tears on Saturday night after she received a surprise video message from her nan.

During the episode, Tilly, 19, performed a Paso Doble to Diablo Rojo by Rodrigo y Gabriela with pro partner Nikita Kuzmin.

After their performance, the duo headed upstairs in the studio to speak to Claudia Winkleman where she revealed that she had a surprise for the contestant.

Claudia said: "Your nan, Helen, hasn't been here and I know that makes you sad. But we have a message from her…"

Tilly's nan, Helen, then appeared onscreen as she said: "Hi Tilly, surprise, surprise, nanny here! I'd just like to wish you and your partner lots and lots of luck for Saturday night.

"All the family and friends are behind you. Lovely to watch you dancing, it's beautiful, you take care, lots of love, nanny."

Tilly broke down in tears as she said: "That's going to make me cry, thank you nan!"

While Nikita got emotional too as Claudia commented: "Nikita has also gone!"

It comes after Gordon Ramsay shared a sweet post for his daughter Tilly ahead of Saturday's show.

Taking to Instagram, the famous chef, 54, posted a collection of photos of Tilly and Nikita in rehearsals as well as a throwback snap of him with his daughter and wife Tana Ramsay.

Gordon sweetly said that he was "so proud" of Tilly and that it had been an "incredible week of training", adding: "Hard work pays off!"

He penned: "Wishing these two all the very best for tonight’s Paso Doble @tillyramsay @nikita__kuzmin @bbcstrictly what an incredible week of training it’s been ,hard work pays off , so proud of you love you Dad xxx."

To which Tilly replied with: "Love and miss you dad!! Thank you," followed by heart emojis.

It comes after Tilly reportedly laughed off claims of a budding relationship with Nikita.

Following speculation that the pair had grown close in recent weeks, Tilly is said to have likened the dance professional to a "big brother" rather than a potential love interest.

A source told The Sun last week: "Tilly finds the stories really funny. Lovers? She's been saying he's more like a brother.

"Tilly says Nikita is literally the funniest person she's ever met, but there's nothing at all going on behind the scenes," it was added of the blonde's relationship with the Ukrainian professional dancer, who is in a long-term relationship with Nicole Wirt.

The source added that the dance partners are "too busy having fun", and Tilly has also spoken to Nikita's girlfriend Nikita "a couple of times on FaceTime".

"Tilly thinks Nicole's amazing – an absolutely incredible dancer. She's been really supportive of them and been wishing them well in private throughout the series," it was added.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday nights with the results show on Sundays on BBC One.
