Strictly’s Kai Widdrington shows off hunky makeover but cute dog steals the show

January 8, 2022

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Kai Widdrington shared a cute snap to show off his new haircut, but a certain someone seemed to upstage the dancer who is usually in the limelight.

The 26 year old captioned his picture: “The freshest fade in London.” The photo showed Kai looking cheeky as ever, modelling his new ‘do with a big grin while sporting a checkered shirt and, of course, holding the pampered pooch.

The white and brown French Bulldog took centre stage in a cute pink hoodie and fans just could not get enough.

One follower commented: “That pup though,” while another simply said: “Tintin and Snowy!”

“Well groomed man, well dressed doggy,” wrote one fan.

“What a clever Frenchie, doing your barbering,” joked another.

One admirer wrote: “What a gorgeous dog and I must say, not too bad yourself.”

Kai lives with fellow Strictly professional and 2021’s winner Giovanni Pernice. Giovanni won the series with his partner Rose Ayling-Ellis while Kai placed third with his partner television presenter AJ Odudu.

AJ had to pull out from the competition due to an injury and will not be joining Kai on the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.

Instead, Kai will be dancing with 2020’s finalist Maisie Smith.

Kai posted about the decision on Instagram: “I’m really gutted to hear that AJ Odudu won’t be able to join me on the BBC Strictly Tour around the UK."

"I know we were both really focused and willing to get back on the floor in the arenas and finish what we started. I know we will get to dance again very soon and I am sending all my love and well wishes to AJ for a quick recovery.”

"With that, I am also very lucky to say that I get to continue on the tour with my amazing new tour partner Maisie Smith who as you all now smashed last year’s Strictly."

"I cannot wait to see you all on the road and get to dance in front of a live audience once again. See you all soon."

AJ left her support for the dancing duo in the comments: “I’ll make you a banner, hello! Smash it guys.”

She then reshared the post and added her own message of support: “I'm so happy Kai doesn't have to miss out on the tour because of me and who better to pass the Kai-shaped baton on to, than to the amazing Maisie Smith.”
