Hollyoaks actor Will Mellor has become the latest celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing.

Having made it to the semi-final, the judges decided to choose X-Factor star Fleur East and her pro dance partner Vito Coppola after watching them battle it out in the dance off.

Will and his pro dance partner Nancy Xu their Paso Doble and a Couples’ Choice to a 90s Manchester inspired medley in their attempts to wow the judges in Sunday night's live show.

Unfortunately, Will's Paso Doble was met with some criticism from the judges, who awarded him a 32, while his couple's choice dance racked up a whopping 38, with Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke giving him a top scores.

Despite their efforts, Will and Nancy landed at the bottom of the leaderboard and were voted by the public to dance again in the dance off.

After being voted out by the judges, presenter Tess Daly asked if he had any final words, to which Will replied: "I have to thank you all for giving me this chance to put a smile on my mums face, she deserves it."

"I’ll take whatever I have learnt from this show forward in whatever I do because it shows you can achieve more than you think. I didn’t think I’d be able to get anywhere near this", he continued.

Will went on to say: "I am so proud of what we have achieved but also everybody who has voted for me, who has supported me, the messages I’ve had from my local community and children."

"Thank you all so much, we really, really appreciated every bit", he said, before quickly adding: "Anyone watching this show, the people that work on this show, the crew, the make up team, the wardrobe team, the judges, the contestants, this is an unbelievable journey."

"If you get the chance to get on this floor then do it, it’s unbelievable this place", Will concluded.

Will leaves Fleur, Molly Rainford, Hamza Yassin and Helen Skelton to battle it out for the Glitterball Trophy in the Strictly Grand Final.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Final will air live on Saturday, December 17 at 7.15pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
