Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood postpones his wedding to fiance Jonathan Myring to avoid Covid restrictionsOctober 8, 2020
STRICTLY Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood postponed his wedding to fiance Jonathan Myring to avoid the Covid restrictions.
The judge, 55, is planning on avoiding a "Covid wedding" as he wants a "big and fun" celebration.
Currently, rules in the UK state no more than 15 people can legally attend a wedding in order to stop the spread of the virus.
Craig – who has been married to Jonathan, 35, since March – says it will take him a couple of years to plan anyway.
"I want it to be big and fun, not a Covid wedding with five people there. It'll take a couple of years to plan but we're not in a rush," he told the Daily Mail.
He'd also like to go abroad for his big day, adding: "Then I'd love to jet off to the Maldives, then perhaps return to Tasmania [where his fiance proposed] on our honeymoon."
The Strictly star even dropped hints they could be starting a family.
He said: "I'm not ruling out kids, but I'm 55 and I'll be 56 in January. I'm getting a bit long in the tooth. Having said that, Elton John managed it, so why not? Never say never."
Craig recently opened up about how he is "determined to be a better husband" after the marriage to his wife broke down 30 years ago.
The star vowed to remain single after his two-and-a-half year marriage to ex-wife Jane collapsed 30 years ago.
In an interview with The Mirror, Craig said: “Things are definitely different this time.
“I could never really see myself remarrying, but this feels right. It feels like the right time, and I fancy sharing my life, and the rest of my life, with Jonathan.”
Horticulturist Jonathan originally surprised Craig with his proposal during a trip to a national park.
He stripped off in a salt bath and dropped to one knee to ask the question as the pair were enjoying champagne.
In an interview with OK!, Craig called the moment "hilarious" and "sweet", and he answered the way Strictly fans would expect.
He explained: "I said, 'Absolutely not!' [laughs]. And then I said, 'Oh, alright then, I’ve changed my mind.'
"I thought it was really sweet, actually, because Jonathan just said, 'I want to spend the rest of my life with you.'"
