Strictly Come Dancing's Aston Merrygold slams judge Craig Revel Horwood over low scores and still blames him for axeDecember 22, 2018
The ex-JLS singer, 30, is still angry for the four score Craig gave for his Viennese waltz in 2017.
Rival Ruth Langsford got the same despite falling to the floor with partner Anton du Beke.
Aston is hoping he can win the Glitterball after previously being “robbed” of the opportunity.
He said: “Craig gave me a four. Can he justify that? Not really. Was my routine bad enough that it matched someone’s that fell over?
“I think I got eight, seven, seven — something like that and there wasn’t really consistency there.
“Fair enough, he didn’t like the routine, but maybe think about the scoring.”
Aston also believes he would have won in 2017 had the Couple’s Choice option been added a series sooner.
He said: “Couple’s Choice? Are you kidding me? I said to some of the execs, ‘Great to see you, but I’m fuming. Why didn’t you add Couple’s Choice last year?’
“We could have done stuff that Strictly has never seen before, 100 per cent.”
Aston will be performing a Nutcracker-themed jive with partner Janette Manrara in the Christmas Day Strictly special.
And he joked the moves “come very close to cracking my nuts”.
Caroline Flack, Jake Wood, Michael Vaughan, Anita Rani and Ann Widdecombe will also compete.
