Star Wars fan's model of Last Jedi scene made with 100,000 Legos goes viral

This is impressive. Most impressive.

A fan’s insanely detailed model of a key scene from The Last Jedi has gone viral after he posted it on Twitter. Below is Virginia Star Wars fan David Hall’s 100,000-Lego strong depiction of the climactic Battle of Crait (you know, the planet with all the salt?).

The project, which he says took more than 13 months (of his young precious life!) to build drew applause from Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, who then added, “The more I zoom the more my jaw drops.”

To which Hall replied: “I just wanted to say that I myself am a senior in film school and hope to one day direct a feature of my own. Thank you for inspiring me!”

C’mon Johnson, give the kid an internship. He’s clearly nothing if not detail oriented.

The sequel to The Last Jedi, the as-yet-untitled Episode IX, is released Dec. 20.
