Spice Girls: How Girl Power Changed Britain viewers went wild on Tuesday night as they spotted a young Davina McCall during the documentary.

The three-part series, to mark 25 years since the release of their debut album Spice, shows the story of the girl group made up of — Victoria Beckham, Geri Horner, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Mel C — with rare archive footage.

During Tuesday's instalment, it was revealed that Geri and Victoria were scouted for the group during auditions for the Tank Girl film, where a young Davina, now 53, was also in attendance.

Viewers were quick to take to Twitter after the documentary showed the star, who had lighter locks at the time, say to the camera at the auditions: "My name is Davina McCall."

One person tweeted: "So Davina McCall @ThisisDavina could have been in the #SpiceGirls then, if things had gone differently," followed by smiling emojis.

A different account put: "Did not expect to see Davina McCall in the Spice Girls documentary #HowGirlPowerChangedBritain #SpiceGirls."

Another follower commented: "Wait hang on. Are we not discussing that DAVINA MCCALL was in that auditorium too? #SpiceGirls #channel4."

While a different fan added: "Davina McCall ! #SpiceGirls.'

Davina was also left shocked over the throwback footage as she saw the reaction on Twitter and asked one fan: "Oh my god !!! Where is that picture from."

To which a different follower replied: "You were on the Spice Girls documentary Channel 4 aired earlier."

However, Davina was able to see the funny side as she later tweeted: "For the record , I would have made a great Spice Girl. What would have been? Naughty spice."

It comes after Davina emotionally accepted a TV Choice Award for Long Lost Family earlier this month, admitting she had been "crying her eyes out" just before accepting the gong.

The presenter accepted the award for the hit ITV show, which won in the Best Lifestyle Show category at the prestigious ceremony.
