Reba McEntire Determined to Find Good TV Show Post-‘Red Blooded’ RejectionDecember 13, 2018
Country icon Reba McEntire is determined to come up with a new hit TV series after feeling “so sad” at the rejection of her last screen project.
The veteran singer teamed up with “Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry in 2016 to pitch the series “Red Blooded”, in which Reba played a small town Kentucky sheriff who partners with a young FBI agent of Middle Eastern descent to solve a disturbing crime.
A pilot was ordered by bosses at America’s ABC network in January, 2017, but the show ended up being dumped – and Reba was disappointed at the news.
“I was so sad. I was mad,” she told the Washington Post. “I was curious: What do you have to do to get a good show on television?”
However, Reba claims she hasn’t given up hope of her TV acting return, and has since started brainstorming for other potential series ideas.
The star is no stranger to the screen – she previously featured in the comedy “Malibu Country” and enjoyed six years on her family sitcom “Reba”, which wrapped in 2007. She has even stepped into the shoes of KFC founder Colonel Sanders for a recent TV advert for the fast-food chain.
