Patrick stops Linda from drinking as she almost relapses in EastEnders
February 14, 2023Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has been struggling to carry on as normal following the ‘death’ of the love of her life, Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) in EastEnders.
While Mick is not officially dead, he has not yet been found after going missing at sea on Christmas Day, leaving Linda and the other Walford residents fearing the worst.
With Valentine’s Day dawning on the Square, Linda was left with the memories of her ex-husband and how much he loved the romantic celebration.
Confiding in Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), she confessed that she felt like she really needed a drink to cope with her loss.
Viewers will know that Linda is a recovering alcoholic, with her addiction having pushed her relationship with childhood sweetheart Mick to the very limit.
Sharon, who was also grieving, due to it being the anniversary of son Denny’s death, offered a supportive ear to her struggling friend.
Despite her cravings, Linda went ahead with opening the Queen Vic for the Valentine’s party, and insisted on serving her customers.
However, when Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) left a dribble of whiskey in the bottom of the glass, Linda found herself struggling to ignore it.
Luckily, Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) was on hand to stop her doing anything rash. He offered her words of comfort as he prised the drink from her hands.
With one obstacle overcome, Linda received a phone call from her solicitor, wanting to talk about Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).
Janine left the square in December after being arrested for framing Linda for drink driving.
As Linda listened to what the solicitor had to say her face dropped, as she insisted that Janine couldn’t do whatever it was she was planning.
What exactly does Janine have up her sleeve?
