It’s been 16 years since Daniel Craig was cast as the next James Bond in Casino Royale. And after five blockbuster outings, the 53-year-old has bowed out from the role in No Time To Die. During promotional interviews, the Bond producers batted away questions about the new 007, saying they were focused on Craig’s final adventure.
However, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson have teased they will get onto thinking about the next Bond reboot in the new year, which happens to be the 60th anniversary of the franchise.
Additionally, the 007 producers have said the franchise will have to be reimagined once again and that whatever happens next will be influenced somewhat by Craig’s tenure in the role.
Whatever the case, speculation continues to be rife over who could take up the Licence to Kill next.
Tom Hardy is often the favourite at the bookies for the next Bond odds, but the Venom star has now been topped by a less well-known actor.
According to Coral, over the weekend, Tom Hopper has now become the new next Bond favourite with odds of just 2-1.
Best known for playing Dickon Tarly in Game of Thrones and Luther Hargreeves in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, the 36-year-old has pushed Hardy into second place.
The Venom star is now on 4-1, followed by Richard Madden on 9-2 and James Norton on 6-1.
Just behind them are Regé-Jean Page on 13-2, Idris Elba on 8-1, Henry Cavill on 8-1 and No Time To Die star Lashana Lynch on 10-1.

The bookmakers said of Hopper’s leap to the top of the next Bond odds: “This is a move which has caught us out over the last 24 hours.
“We have seen strong support for Tom Hopper to be the next James Bond and he has now jumped ahead of Tom Hardy, Richard Madden and James Norton in the betting for the role as 007.”
Hopper’s other notable movie roles include Hadrell in Terminator: Dark Fate and more recently Declan in SAS: Red Notice and Magnusson in Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.
Meanwhile, interest in the rising star could be down to the relatively recent first trailer for his next movie.
