Fiz Stape’s (Jennie McAlpine) world has been turned upside down as a result of Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) affair with Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu), but the biggest shock of all is yet to come.

In scenes next week, she discovers that Alina is pregnant, and for quite possibly the first time ever, the Coronation Street stalwart is rendered well and truly speechless.

The moment, which you can watch above, sees a poorly Alina awaiting for her beau outside the medical centre.

He’s late, and it’s pretty clear that she’s concerned.

Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), who’s out for a walk with beloved dog Cerberus, stops for a chat, instructing Alina to call Ty if she’s worried.

Ty, meanwhile, has popped to the solicitor’s with Fiz, who has been very supportive in the wake of Kirsty Soames’ (Natalie Gumede) demise.

Realising the time, the young lad sprints to the medical centre, much to the confusion of Fiz, who offered to walk him there.

Evelyn, evidently knowing more than Fiz, is surprised by Fiz’s presence, and distracts her with chat about Kirsty’s will.

Fiz, however, spies Ty and Alina heading into the medical centre, and when she quizzes them about why they’re there, Tyrone decides it’s now or never.

‘We’ve got an appointment,’ he says. ‘With the midwife.’

Fiz is shocked, as the realisation sets in.

Coronation Street airs these scenes next week. his episode, alternatively, will be available to stream on ITV Hub from 6am on Monday June 28 due to scheduling disruptions caused by Euro 2020.
