Chloe’s (played by April Rose Pengilly) pregnancy on Neighbours has led to her and Pierce (Tim Robards) making some stuff tough decisions, given the fact the expectant mother is living with Huntington’s Disease. Despite weeks of uncertainty about whether the child could inherit the life-limiting condition, the baby’s parents are given some encouraging news in upcoming scenes on the Channel 5 soap. However, tragedy is soon on the horizon as the quirky character will suffer from a miscarriage, leaving her heartbroken. With her husband looking forward to being a father again, will this latest hurdle kickstart his affair with Dipi Rebecchi (Sharon Johal)?

The heartbreaking storyline twist begins to unravel next week when the expectant parents make plans for the future after discovering their child hasn’t inherited the Huntington’s gene.

Chloe becomes overwhelmed, however, when her husband suggests they leave Ramsay Street and look for a bigger house.

Feeling she has no one else to turn to, the expectant mother calls on friend Nicolette Stone (Charlotte Chimes) and the pair go for a walk together.

Pierce’s wife explains her concerns about their relationship as it’s clear they have very different ideas about beginning a family.

After much consideration, the quirky character decides she wants to reach a compromise with her spouse and texts him to tell him how much he is loved – but then she starts to experience pains.

Calling her husband, Chloe is adamant there is something wrong with the baby and later scenes will see the couple told they have lost their child.

Although this should be a time when they lean on one another, it seems the miscarriage will bridge a huge gap between the pair.

Scenes which have already aired in Australia see the former expectant mother carry on with her plans to throw a baby shower despite losing her child.

This is because she doesn’t want her own mother Fay Brennan (Zoe Bertram) to be upset by the news as she was looking forward to having another grandchild.

As they try to navigate their way through their grief, Pierce will turn to friend Dipi for support during his darkest hour.

Following the baby shower and in a bid to get their marriage back on track, Chloe and her husband will both take part in Dipi’s cooking classes.

However, she is left mortified when her spouse Shane Rebecchi (Nicholas Coghlan) interrupts and causes a huge scene.

Pierce jumps in to defend his friend, but this only leads to a bigger argument between Shane and his wife.

My wife made me practice ‘pretend kissing’

Ankur Dogra

As a result, both Dipi and Pierce meet up at Lassiters to air their grievances over their respective marriages.

In the heat of the moment, the pair share a kiss but instantly regret the flicker of passions as they return home feeling guilty.

The pair decide they will keep their kiss a secret as they try to repair their relationships, but this is only the beginning of a longer affair storyline for the two characters.

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, intimate scenes are scarce but soap bosses have drafted in actress Sharon’s husband Ankur Dogra to make the moments more realistic.

Ankur said of working with his spouse on set: “My wife made me practice ‘pretend kissing’ the night before, which is such a weird concept. I thought my kissing skills were up to scratch but obviously not.

“Sharon’s pride in her work requires her to tell the story and perform to the best of her ability however she can, [and] on this occasion that included having me to help in those pivotal scenes,” he told the Sunday Herald Sun.

Dipi will be enjoying her affair with both incarnations of Pierce as actor Tim is going to be replaced in November.

To complete the character’s exit storyline, Don Hany has been recast in the role as his predecessor moved back to Sydney as a result of COVID-19 restrictions.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1:45pm and 5:30pm on Channel 5.
