Melissa Gorga Addresses Teresa Giudice's Rumored Romance: 'I Would Know … She'd Be Beaming'
February 22, 2019If Teresa Giudice is in fact seeing someone else while husband Joe Giudice is away in prison, her sister-in-law and Real Housewives of New Jersey costar Melissa Gorga sure doesn’t know about it.
On Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Gorga, 39, addressed photographs of Teresa holding hands in Miami with Blake Schreck, a realtor who is 20 years her junior.
Teresa’s attorney James Leonard Jr. had denied the affair to PEOPLE, saying the two were just friends and that their interactions were brief and completely amicable (“There is no cheating, no divorce,” he said. “End of story.”). But Cohen was still curious what Gorga thought, asking her about the pictures.
“I mean, really?” Gorga said. “Listen, I know nothing about it, and if it were true, I’d know something.”
Gorga then speculated how Teresa might feel if the romance were, in fact, real. “She’d be maybe beaming,” Gorga guessed.
Meanwhile, Cohen told Gorga he was actively rooting for the rumors to be true. “I hope it’s true. I really do,” said Cohen, 50. “I want her to be getting it from this guy.”
Teresa, 46, has stuck by Joe, 48, as he completes his 41-month prison sentence for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud, which began in March 2016 and is expected to end next month. Teresa served a little over 11 months in prison for the same crimes and was released on Dec. 23, 2015.
In October, an immigration court ruled to deport Joe to his native Italy after his prison sentence. (Even though he has lived in the United States since he was a child, he never obtained American citizenship, and immigrants can be deported if they are convicted of “a crime of moral turpitude” or an “aggravated felony,” according to U.S. law.)
Though Joe appealed the ruling in November, he still faces deportation. An insider close to the couple said that they are optimistic about the appeal. “They are obviously optimistic that he is coming home,” the source said. “Teresa’s hope is that they can remain together as a family.”
However, during the taping of RHONJ’s season 9 reunion (which has not yet aired), Teresa admitted that she and Joe would go their separate ways if he were to be deported, multiple sources told PEOPLE.
The topic allegedly came up when reunion host Cohen asked if she had discussed the possibility of moving to Italy with their four daughters — Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 13, and Audriana, 10.
“Teresa told Andy that if Joe gets deported, she’s not going,” a source on the scene told PEOPLE. “She said that she and Joe had talked about it over the phone, and that he understood.”
According to a second source, Cohen then pressed Teresa about what would happen to their marriage, and she confirmed they’d split. “She didn’t really express any sadness about that,” the second source said. “She just focused instead on the girls. It was very matter of fact.”
