Lucifer: Dr. Linda Martin discusses her past relationship with him
Dennis Haysbert portrays God in season five of Lucifer on Netflix. Fans were finally introduced to God at the end of part one but what is his plan on Earth? Express.co.uk has everything you need to know.
What is God’s plan on Earth?
After five seasons of waiting, God blessed fans by making an appearance on Earth.
God made his long-awaited debut in the very last scene of the episode and fans are eager to know what will happen next.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Lucifer co-showrunner Joe Henderson dropped some details about God in part two.
He said: “So much of it, as we got toward it, was the fear of overly demystifying God.

“Because God is the metaphor for all of our fathers — those unknowable figures we grew up with that we know to varying degrees but as a child, we’re guessing as to what they actually want and need.
“The challenge was honouring that while still bringing in a fully fleshed character in. But that’s also what became the fun of it.”
A tweet posted on the official Lucifer Twitter account suggested God will be sticking around on Earth for longer than anticipated.
The tweet read: “When could the release date of 5B possibly be? we can’t reveal that but what we can reveal: get ready for *’s extended stay on ***.”
Fans were quick to fill in blanks to read God’s or Dad’s extended stay on Earth and ever since, viewers have been trying to figure out exactly what God’s plan is.
Many hope God is on Earth to mend his relationship with his estranged son Lucifer (Tom Ellis).
Lucifer led the revolt against Heaven with God banishing him to rule over Hell as punishment.
Ever since Lucifer has had serious abandonment issues with his father and fans have been awaiting the day the pair are reunited.
Others believe God is returning to Earth to stop Michael (also Ellis) from wreaking chaos on Earth.

One fan tweeted: “I’m hoping that Michael’s punishment would be to be sent to rule hell but pretending to be Lucifer.”
In Lucifer season five, part one, Lucifer’s evil twin brother Michael arrived on Earth impersonating his sibling.
Michael was attempting to take revenge on Lucifer and Amenadiel for abandoning him in Hell.
At the end of season five, part one Michael joined forces with Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) against Lucifer and Amenadiel (DB Woodside).
The foursome engaged in battle in the middle of the LAPD office with time frozen.
They were interrupted by God, who appeared on the steps of the LAPD office.
He simply said: “Children, you know I hate it when you fight.”
In part two, God will sit down to dinner with his family in a bid to resolve the problems.
Fans are hoping the resolution will see Michael return to Hell.
Henderson revealed episode nine, titled Family Dinner, will feature the show’s longest single scene to-date with a sequence coming in at 11 minutes and 27 seconds in length.
He also teased the scene involved a family dinner that takes place in one room and took two days to film.
Other possible theories include Lucifer’s return to Hell, the fallout surrounding Amenadiel and Linda’s (Rachael Harris) son Charlie and Lucifer losing his devil face.
Fans will have to wait until Lucifer season five, part two drops on Netflix in 2021 to find out exactly what God has in store.
