Dami Hope and indiyah Polack have polled in third place for Love Island’s 2020.

The twosome narrowly missed out on a chance at swooping up the £50,000 prize fund and being crowned the winners of the eight series on Monday 1st August.

While they were not triumphant on this occasion, that didn’t seem to bother the couple who seemed to be totally smitten with each – explaining they were just happy to have made the top three.

Four couples were fortunate enough to make it to the live final which is hosted by TV star and ITV host Laura Whitmore.

Although Dami and Indiyah were not winners they still were worthy contenders who had been a huge hit with the Great British public for weeks.

Fans on Twitter were not surprised with the result but weren’t exactly happy either as they took to their keyboards.

One tweet read: "Indiyah and Dami just make sense!!! Ahhh I just love them!!! Gutted #LoveIsland."

A second wrote: "Indiyah is my forever winner alongside Ekin-su #LoveIsland."

While a third fumed: "Dear Indiyah and Dami and Tasha and Andrew, fiat 500 twitter is strong and these votes are rigged we are very sorry that we weren’t strong enough to kick Luca and Gemma out."

Ahead of tonights unveiling, the final eight stars of the show are treated to a professional salsa lesson ahead of the spectacular Summer Ball to round things off for all still in the competition.

The guys and girls were gathered together for a “small class of hot Latin dance”.

Andrew seemed to be relieved that professional dancer Tasha Gghouri was at his side, telling the group: “Good that Tasha’s next to me because I cannot move to save my life."

An unconfident Indiyah also laughed: “How am I going to be able to do this?"

"Be the best, why not?" added Ekin-Su who seemed to enjoy the experience with Davide.

While Luca Bush and Gemma Owen explained that they just had a "good laugh".

It has become somewhat tradition, that with every Love Island final we can expect and epic Summer Ball to see the series out.

The garden in the Villa had been beautifully transformed an the Islanders were dressed to the nines in all their finery.

Each person is asked to take it in turn to read out a declaration to their significant other with Andrew and Tasha, Dami and Indiyah, Davide and Ekin-Su and Luca and Gemma taking it in turn to express their true feelings.

At the end of the night the winners of this year’s Love Island will be crowned…
