In recent weeks there had been much speculation that this year's winner could possibly be the first to take the money and run – so fans on Twitter were clearly annoyed by Laura's announcement.
One person penned:" Oh there goes the Ekin-Su and Davide steal we had been hoping for, #loveisland."
Another wrote: " Noooo I was hoping someone would steal this year #loveisland."
A third said": "They're not making them choose money or love this year LMFAOOOOOOO #LoveIsland."
While a fourth fumed: "Excuse you what!? Removing the final twist, so no longer 'money or love'. Someone needs sacking haha #loveisland."
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sancliment, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack and Gemma Owen and Luca Bish are all ready and waiting to see who will be crowned this years champions.
On the last episode of the eighth series, the guys and girls were gathered together for a "small class of hot Latin dance".
The eight remaining stars came together to read out declarations for each other in finale Summertime ball.
A nervous Gemma Owen received support from her co-star's as she stepped up first to read for Luca, telling him she'd helped bring out her "softer side".
