Love Island fans convinced Adam Collard and Zara McDermott's split 'proves' six month contract fan theoryFebruary 11, 2019
The Sun revealed earlier today that the reality pair had called it quits – and viewers think it proves that loved-up contestants from the show only stay together for half a year.
It comes after a string of public break-ups in quick succession – including Josh Denzel and Kaz Crossley, along with Megan Barton Hanson and Wes Nelson’s shocking split.
One fan tweeted: "Are the Love Island contestants in a contract that they may remain in a couple for 6 months after the show ends? V sus that they’re all breaking up recently."
Another posed the question: "Is there any truth behind love island stars signing a 6 month contract to stay together afterwards?
"Or do they get some payout or deal for doing so?"
A reality fan added: "It’s deffo reached the stage in the Love Island contract where the couples don’t have to pretend to be real anymore… 3 breakups in a week ahahahah soooo so fake."
One viewer commented: "I feel like these Love Island couples who are breaking up after six months are doing so because their contract ended."
And one tweet, which was posted in June last year, read: "This time in six months Adam will be on Geordie Shore having pied Zara off. You watch."
Zara and Adam called it quits on their seven-month romance last night following crisis talks over Adam’s wild partying with Jack Fincham, Sam Bird and Instagram model Brittany Archer.
The Sun revealed last week that the couple were fighting to save their romance after Zara blasted Adam for boozing until the early hours with Brittany and Love Island co-stars Sam and Jack, who admitted to taking drugs on the night.
Series champions Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham split for just a few days in December before reuniting – and they're now the only couple to still be together.
