Love Island Christmas Reunion ‘thrown into chaos’ as winners Dani and Jack split

December 9, 2018

ITV bosses are said to be heartbroken over Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer ‘s split – because it’s thrown two of their upcoming shows into chaos.

The Love Island winners announced their shock break up last week, in the midst of filming their own reality spin-off show, Jack And Dani: Life After Love Island, and as the Christmas Reunion special of the ITV2 dating show approaches.

The couple were the favourites of this year’s series right from the very beginning, with them coupling up on the first day in the villa.

It was no surprise that they went on to win the show, but just four months after being crowned, and six months into their relationship, they shocked fans by announcing that they’d decided it wasn’t going to work long term.

Now, an insider has the the Mail On Sunday : "This is a disaster. Dani’s announcement came out of nowhere. It is all very embarrassing given that the Love Island Christmas special is being trailed. They are the stars of the show and now there is not enough time to film it all.

"ITV know this will affect their ratings. As for the show in the New Year, it is still scheduled to air but, again, it will all appear disingenuous. This split came out of nowhere and nobody had any time to prepare."

Dani announced the shock split on Thursday night, writing on Instagram: "Jack & I have sadly decided to part ways. It’s been an incredible 6 months, and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but sadly we’ve come to the realisation that it’s not meant to be long term.

"We both plan to stay friends. I hope you’ll all understand. Love Dani x"

Just a few days earlier, the former couple had announced that they were going to be the social media hosts at next year’s National Television Awards, and fans questioned whether or not they’d still be doing it.

But a spokesperson has since confirmed that their hosting gig will go ahead despite the break up.

They told the Daily Star : "As winners and stand-out stars of one of this year’s most talked about shows, Love Island’s Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham will continue in their roles as hosts of the red carpet and backstage and all our social media channels on the night.

"Despite the recent news about their relationship, we are delighted they remain friends and we look forward to working with them at the upcoming NTAs."
