Louise was made a permanent host in 2012 and was previously one of the BBC’s relief presenters. After presenting BBC Breakfast with Dan Walker for three days a week, she announced her departure in June 2021, later appearing on this year’s edition of I’m A Celebrity. However, could she take on a new role on ITV’s rival news show, Good Morning Britain?
Kate Garraway spoke to Louise about her exit on Friday’s GMB, as well as her recent stint in Gwrych Castle.
The ITV broadcaster suggested her appearance on the show could be a hint towards her next career plans.
“You know what people are going to say,” she said as Louise laughed.
“You’re here on Good Morning Britain. You were adored on BBC Breakfast. Everyone loved you there.”
“Are you thinking of making the move, and should I get my coat?”
Adil laughed enthusiastically as Kate added: “To be fair, I’ve had a good run.”
Kate has hosted Good Morning Britain since ITV’s daily news broadcast replaced Daybreak in 2014.
However, should she be concerned now BBC’s Louise has left her job on the rival morning show?
Thankfully, Louise assured her this won’t be the case and Kate won’t have to start looking for another job any time soon.
“Kate,” she replied comfortingly, as the two GMB hosts continued to chuckle.
Adil shouted to the crew: “Can we get Kate’s coat, please?”
“You are really brilliant,” Louise told the presenter.
She then chided Adil: “No! Don’t get your coat!”

Louise then revealed she didn’t want to return to the tough working conditions that come with a long-running stint on a morning news show.
“I’ve done those hours,” she continued. “I got up at 3:45 in the morning for the last 20 years.”
However, Adil and Kate still weren’t convinced, joking their colleagues Charlotte Hawkins and Susanna Reid could be out of a job soon.
“No! No! Keep your coats,” Louise assured them one more time.
Kate laughed again as the camera cut to Charlotte, who gave a rather concerned shrug.
It looks like Louise isn’t planning on switching over to ITV for the time being.
In addition to her I’m A Celeb appearance, in which she was the fifth to be eliminated, she is currently working freelance within the BBC.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
