Killing Eve's psychopath Villanelle is bloodied and drunk in first look at second seriesDecember 24, 2018
The last nail-biting instalment saw the assassin, played by Jodie Cromer, 25, escaping Eve Polastri’s clutches after the pair finally came face-to-face.
Killing Eve was one of the most watched series on BBC iPlayer in 2018 and the second series looks just as gripping as the first.
Eve, played by Sandra Oh, managed to stab Villanelle in the dying seconds of series one and the second part appears to pick up exactly where they left off.
Standing in the street and hailing a taxi, Villanelle can be seen covering her wound with a large coat.
But she later stops off to tend to her wound and is seen trying to stem the bleeding from her abdomen while drinking vodka to numb the pain.
Secret agent Eve meanwhile is shown looking terrified after her encounter with the paid serial killer.
After a cat-and-mouse style chase during the first series, the pair became enthralled by one another.
Their bizarre relationship will now continue as Eve comes to terms with letting Villanelle escape from her grasp.
And it seems she’s got some explaining to do, as she meets with her boss, the head of the Russian department at MI6, Carolyn Martens – played by Fiona Shaw.
Killing Eve’s huge popularity has seen it nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe.
Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge is the brains behind the series and has ensured no spoilers have leaked out until now.
Earlier this month Jodie confirmed filming for the second series had ended following a six month shoot.
The second series is expected to begin in the spring.
