'Jersey Shore' Stars 'Not in Support' of '2.0' Reboot; '#WeAreJerseyShore'

May 19, 2022

The original stars of Jersey Shore are not happy about the reboot series MTV announced yesterday. The reality stars are speaking out about the forthcoming series on social media, saying they’re “not in support” of Jersey Shore 2.0. Here’s everything the MTV cast has said about the reboot and what #WeAreJerseyShore means.

MTV wants to bring ‘Jersey Shore 2.0’ to network in 2022-2023

On May 18, Deadline announced Jersey Shore 2.0. “It’s been 13 years since the iconic cast of Jersey Shore fist-pumped their way into our lives and stole our hearts,” the logline reads.

It continues: “The time-honored tradition continues with a new group of roommates moving into their own Shore house. They may have traded their poofs for plumped pouts and UV rays for spray tans, but when things heat up in Jersey, the Shore is still the place to be to make memories all summer long.”

At publication, it’s unclear if casting has begun or already concluded for the new series. Stay tuned for upates.

Yesterday, MTV announced another Jersey Shore spinoff. Dubbed Jersey Shore 2.0, the reality TV series

DJ Pauly D and other ‘Jersey Shore’ stars post #WeAreJerseyShore

Pauly DelVecchio, Angelina Pivarnick, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Deena Cortese, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, and Vinny Guadagnino all spoke out about the new show. Each shared the same message to social media.

“As a cast that took a chance with a network in need, we put our most vulnerable moments on television for the world to see. We gave our all over the past 13 years, became a family, and continue to open our lives for the world. So please understand that we are not in support of a version that will exploit our original show, our hard work, and authenticity to gain viewers.”

Their statement concludes: “Don’t forget to tune into an all-new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.”

Showrunner SallyAnn Salsano has not commented on the situation. Additionally, Showbiz Cheat Sheet reached out to MTV for comment but did not hear back by publication.

‘Jersey Shore 2.0’ might never get off the ground after #WeAreJerseyShore

The Jersey Shore cast’s reaction to Jersey Shore 2.0 could cause an uprising among fans. Ultimately, this could impact ratings if the show makes it to air.

495 Productions, the company that brought us the original Jersey Shore, is struggling to find a location to film 2.0. According to a local publication, producers have been scouting Ocean County, New Jersey’s two barrier islands.

This includes the town Lavallette. They denied 495 Productions from filming due to the “reputation” the original Jersey Shore gave Seaside Heights. Several other locations have also rejected the production company, including Berkeley, Toms River, and Brick Township.

‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ returns soon

The cast of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation spent most of early 2022 filming for the second half of season 5. After trips to El Paso, Texas and San Diego, episodes are almost “in the can.”

Based on the reality TV show’s previous air schedule, fans can likely expect new episodes as soon as June 2022. Stay tuned to Showbiz for updates.
