Jennifer Lopez pole dances in a crop top and hotpants as she trains for new movie role

The 49-year-old superstar is preparing for her role in Hustlers alongside Crazy Rich Asians star Constance Wu.

While Jennifer has plenty of moves on the dance floor, knowing how to move seamlessly around a pole is a whole different set of skills.

During a pole dancing lesson on Monday, Jennifer's boyfriend Alex Rodriguez gave fans a sneak peek of her progress so far, filming his girlfriend on his Instagram Stories as she was put through her paces by a pole dancing teacher.

Wearing sky high shoes, a black crop top and hot pants, Jennifer showed off her incredible figure as she learned how to do a successful twirl around the pole.

After a couple of false starts, the superstar wrapped her leg around the pole and carried out the move, winning Alex's seal of approval as he whooped.

In response, Jennifer – who has been dating the former baseball player since 2017 – did a dip in his direction and grinned.

The pair then headed to the gym together, with Jennifer sharing a snap on her Instagram of her doing bicep curls.

She captioned it: "Working on strength training for my new movie, Hustler".

Variety reports the movie will focus on a group of savvy former strip club employees who team up to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients following the financial crisis.

The film will be directed by Lorene Scafaria and is based on an article by Jessica Pressler in New York Magazine called The Hustlers at Scores, with Jennifer playing the ring leader.

The movie currently doesn't have a release date.
