ITV This Morning: John Barrowman forced to apologise as he spits on Emily Atack

April 14, 2019

On today’s edition of This Morning, Emily and John introduced a segment with Queen of Clean, Lynsey Crombie, who went round to one viewer’s home to share cleaning tips.

After the segment, John reflected on Lynsey’s tips and noted he didn’t like to use vinegar with his cleaning as he felt it made the house smell.

But as he gave his opinion on the segment, he accidentally spat at his co-host.

While Emily appeared not to notice, John was quick to apologise, telling her: “Sorry, I just spat on you.”

Emily simply pulled a face but ever the professionals, the pair continued with the show.

The moment came after John broke a chocolate egg on Emily’s head ahead of an Easter segment.

Before the segment, which was aired earlier in the week, the pair chatted about their favourite chocolate eggs.

Emily said she liked a “basic” egg while John got up to inspect those on the table in front of them.

He then unboxed one chocolate egg and tried to crack it on Emily’s head, which she was not happy about.

As Emily unpacked her egg, John held onto her arm and tried to pull her closer to him.

“Emily, come here, come here,” he said as he raised the egg to her head.

The Inbetweeners star didn’t seem too keen as she gasped: “What? No.”

But John continued: “Come here,” before he broke the egg on her forehead.

Emily immediately touched the top of her head as she screamed: “Ow! That really hurt!”

As she pulled a face and pretended to be in a lot of pain, she fell back onto the iconic This Morning sofa.

Following the segment, the pair could be seen sitting on the sofa with chocolate all around their mouths.

The pair grinned as they tried to pretend they hadn’t eaten all of the chocolate treats.

“There’s still one left,” John shouted as he held up a Lindt bunny.

Viewers were thrilled to see Emily and John presenting together and took to Twitter to comment.

One wrote: “@EmAtack @JohnBarrowman crack me up @thismorning #thismorning.”

Another continued: “@JohnBarrowman cracking the egg at Emily’s head was the funniest thing @EmAtack #ThisMorning.”

This Morning continues Monday on ITV at 10.30am.
