A star of I'm a Celebrity…. Get Me Out Of Here! Australia got bitten by a huge snake on live TV in a shocking moment on the show.

Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins, 35, an Australian former professional rugby union player, could be seen pushing his hand into a cage that contained a huge snake which angrily latched its jaws around the sportsman's hand.

The clip was seen in a trailer released on Tuesday to tease the next episode of the show, and Nick can be seen gritting his teeth and grimacing as the gigantic snake then wrapped itself around his hand and forearm.

A voiceover can be heard saying: "Could you do this? Tonight The Honey Badger takes on a snake."

Shocked fans rushed to comment on the video, with one saying: "OMG! Thats fierce!!! I hope he's ok," whilst another said: "Why isn't anyone stepping in?"

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! Australia is filmed in Kruger National Park, South Africa, with this season being hosted by Chris Brown and Julia Morris.

Nick isn't the first contestant on the show to be bitten by a snake as, in 2021, former Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield was also.

After putting her hand into a box and getting bitten by a non-venomous snake, she fell to the floor in distress, crying and screaming.

She shouted: "Ahhhh, it's biting me, biting me, biting me," as a snake expert rushed over to prise her hand away from the reptile.

"Just keep calm Abbie, it's okay. Hold my hand," the show's host Dr. Chris Brown said as he desperately tried to comfort her.

On the same series of the show, actress Toni Pearen, was repeatedly bitten on the face by a snake during one of the challenges.

She had been tasked with sticking her head into a perspex box filled with pythons, before a particularly angry one launched itself at her face numerous times.

Understandably, the E Street actress became extremely distressed as she kept crying and screaming, repeating: "Oh my god."

After being released from the box, the star bent over and shook uncontrollably.

Meanwhile, a special version of the UK show is soon set to grace our screens, as some of the biggest stars from the last 20 years of the series come back together for an all-stars episode.

Ant and Dec revealed the nine stars who will be kicking off the show on a recent episode of Saturday Night Takeaway, including Countdown legend Carol Vorderman, US model Janice Dickinson, cricketer Phil Tufnell, boxer Amir Khan, Diversity's Jordan Banjo, athlete Fatima Whitbread, royal butler Paul Burrell, Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan, and The Happy Mondays singer Shaun Ryder.
