How Lucy Mecklenburgh hid her second pregnancy with throwback pics, baggy clothes and covering her stomach on Instagram

FORMER Towie star Lucy Mecklenburgh announced she was expecting her second child with fiancé Ryan Thomas today.

And the fitness entrepreneur, 30, managed to keep her pregnancy under wraps with baggy outfits and clever posing online, including one snap with a carefully placed kitchen dish.

Over the last few months, Lucy has kept her baby bump incognito leaving fans surprised when she announced the happy news with an adorable Instagram photo of her cradling her bump alongside 20-month-old son Roman.

Notably, the ITVBe star was pictured attending the launch of Scott and Adam Thomas' eatery, Oh My Glaze, at Manchester's Old Trafford centre last week clad in a long and oversized plaid shacket.

Lucy happily posed for photos with Ryan in her loose-fitting attire, which included a white ruffled top and baggy jeans, and perfectly covered her burgeoning bump.

Then late last month, Lucy posted a snap of her in her kitchen promoting recipe delivery box Hello Fresh and cleverly held a freshly cooked veggie moussaka in front of her stomach.

The glass dish and tea towel were sure to distract her followers from suspecting anything as it completely hide any hint of a baby bump from the camera.

In another snap, Lucy modelled a stylish floral maxi dress and cleverly posed away from the camera, hiding her stomach once again.

Fans didn't pick up on the subtle change of pose as it perfectly showed off the movement of the dress, distracting anyone from suspecting she was pregnant.

Earlier today, Lucy confirmed she and Ryan, 37, were expecting again on Instagram.

The brunette beauty posted an adorable shot of her cradling her baby bump alongside 20-month-old son Roman.

Captioning the pic, she penned: "Here we go again 🥰❤️👶 @ryanthomas84".

Ryan's former Coronation Street co-star Catherine Tyldesley – who is also pregnant again – replied to the post: "Yeyyyyyyyyyy 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Huge congratulations my loves! ❤️❤️."

Another pal said: "Oh huge congratulations to you all ❤️."

The couple was faced with "every parent’s worst nightmare" in September, when Lucy found Roman turning blue in his cot.

He was rushed to Basildon Hospital before being transferred to St Mary’s Hospital, London, and put on a ventilator.

Thankfully, after his viral-induced wheeze, Roman is doing well, but now uses an inhaler twice a day to help his breathing.

Lucy told The Sun last month: “It was very, very scary. And we didn’t really leave his side for a week. The doctors and the nurses were incredible,” she says.

“He’s absolutely fine now and has us all cracking up."

With help from their family, friends and fans, Ryan -who shares daughter Scarlett with ex Tina O'Brien – have since raised nearly £20,000 to buy high-tech equipment for St Mary’s and provide on-site accommodation for parents so they can be near their children at all times.

Lucy and former Corrie actor Ryan started dating in 2017, after meeting on Bear Grylls' Celebrity Island, and got engaged in Italy two years later.

But their nuptials are on the backburner for the moment, with Lucy joking that they struggle to make time for dates.

“Life is different now – there’s more communication but less spontaneity,” she said.

“It’s a different dynamic, but it’s just as special, if not more so. We’ve become a really good team. But it’s hard [to make time for each other]. I still don’t think we’ve got that balance perfect, but we work on it."
