June 2, 2023Alison Hammond breaks down over Phillip Schofield
Holly Willoughby will be joined by This Morning regular Josie Gibson when she makes her return on Monday morning.
The This Morning star has been absent from the show since May 19 after former co-star Phillip Schofield stepped down from his role.
Holly took an extended break over the half-term and will be back on ITV screens on June, 5.
Signing off Friday afternoons show, Alison Hammond told viewers: “Holly will be back on Monday with Josie.”
Josie has been a regular reporter on the show and has co-hosted alongside Holly, Alison and Craig Doyle on a number of occasions.
It is unclear whether Josie will present with Holly all week, or whether another co-host will be stepping in to take Phillip’s place.
Alison also broke down in tears during Friday’s instalment when discussing Phillip’s latest tell-all interview.
After watching a clip of Phillip’s BBC interview, the presenter said she felt conflicted but that she still “loves” her former co-star.
She sobbed: “I’m finding it really painful because obviously I loved Phillip Schofield and it’s weird because I still love Philip Schofield, however, what he’s done is wrong.

“I never know what to say, but I remember what my mum said.
“My mum always said, ‘use your bible as your sat nav in life,’ and in the bible it says, ‘He without sin cast the first stone.'”
“And I just don’t want to…,” Alison said as she struggled to speak: “I don’t want to say anything bad, because obviously, I’m in conflict.”

In the BBC interview with Amol Rajan, Phillip admitted: “I have to talk about television in the past tense, which breaks my heart. I have lost everything.
“What am I going to do with my days? I see nothing ahead of me but blackness, and sadness, and regret, and remorse, and guilt.
“I did something very wrong, and then I lied about it consistently.”
The 61-year-old went on to admit the only thing keeping him going at the moment is his two daughters.
