Holby City spoilers: Dominic Copeland star teases trouble amid Isaac Mayfield return

March 29, 2019

A recent spring trailer for the BBC soap saw Isaac (played by Marc Elliot) appear to the shock of fans as the character was last seen in April 2017.

Dom star David Ames appeared on ITV’s Lorraine today where he spoke to Lorraine Kelly about Isaac’s return.

Confirming the comeback, he said: “Isaac does return and throws a cat among the pigeons, definitely. He’s there for a little while.”

So what trouble will Isaac cause when he’s back at the hospital?

Isaac left following a heartbreaking storyline which saw Dom become romantically involved with the handsome surgeon.

However, not everything was as it seemed as his behaviour toward Dom got more cruel as time went on.

The emotional abuse turned into physical abuse as he preyed on vulnerable Dom.

Dom was in a lonely place following on from the death of his best friend Arthur Digby (Rob Ostlere) and Isaac had targeted him.

After being subject to the abuse for many months, brave Dom found the courage to report Isaac to the police and the doctor was fired from the hospital.

Dom still went on the struggle greatly in the aftermath of the storyline but has since turned a corner.

He then went on to form a relationship with nurse Lofty Chiltern (Lee Mead).

But Dom is involved in another huge storyline at the moment as his mum Carole (Julia Deakin) will reveal he was adopted.

And it turns out his biological mother is someone incredibly close to home, as Ange Goddard (Dawn Steele) found out on Tuesday’s episode he was the baby she had given up when she was just a teenager.

Although, Dom is not yet privy to the information that his colleague is in fact his mother.

He confides in her over the bombshell Carole has dropped on him completely unaware of what she knows.

But how will Dom find out the shocking truth?

David also touched upon how the character has always felt strangely drawn to Ange.

He said: “I think he’s always kind of been drawn to that character because she is kind of, a little bit like a role model but he’s had this urge to impress her and he can’t explain it.

“He’s never really understood why he’s been drawn to this situation.”

Holby City continues Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One.
