Gogglebox: Cast watch the ‘pillow scene’ from Obsession

Last Friday, thousands of viewers tuned in to watch the latest episode of the popular reality show Gogglebox.

The families and friends on the show caught up on the biggest shows on TV and the coverage was dominated by King Charles’s Coronation.

On May 6, millions tuned in to watch the historic event which was followed by the Coronation concert the next day.

Not everyone on Gogglebox felt patriotic however as Glasgow couple Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle caused a stir among viewers.

Turning to his girlfriend, Joe seemed to mock the celebration as he sang a rude chant about the King.

Joe turned to Roisin and said: “Do you want to hear my pledge?

“You can stick your Coronation up your a***, you can stick your Coronation up your a***.”

It wasn’t long before fans watching the episode flocked to Twitter to share their outrage with some calling the remark “vile”.

Suzysasha said: “I loved every minute of it. Shame on the Glaswegian couple. Let us Glaswegians down with that vile remark.”

Although some viewers found Joe’s comments hilarious with RyanS_UK commenting: “Cackling at the Scottish couple watching the coronation on Gogglebox #Gogglebox”

With GavinEvs adding: “Loving the Scottish couples reaction to the Coronation.”

However, his jibe at the historic event resulted in 88 viewers issuing a formal Ofcom complaint.

The Scottish couple are two of the newest faces to join the Channel 4 show’s line-up.

Roisin and Joe, who have reportedly been together for five years, first appeared on Gogglebox in February last year.

Living together in Joe’s family home in Glasgow, where they film for the show, their initial addition was well received by fans.

Gogglebox continues Fridays on Channel 4 from 9pm.
