Gemma Collins blasted for taking over Dancing On Ice with ‘publicity stunt’February 10, 2019
Gemma Collins has been blasted for taking over Dancing On Ice with another ‘publicity stunt’.
The TOWIE star got a shaman to cleanse the studio of ‘bad vibes’ ahead of tonight’s live show.
But annoyed viewers are claiming they are ‘fed up’ with Gemma taking the spotlight away from the rest of the celebrities.
In a video posted on the show’s Twitter page, Gemma can be seen taking part in a cleansing ritual with shamanic practitioner and healer Sue Holmes.
Determined Gemma, 38, says: "Let’s clear this energy once and for all, hun."
"My hairs are standing on end," says Gemma as she tries to rid the Bovingdon studio of a curse.
Gemma takes a moment to get the bad vibes away from Jason Gardiner’s seating position.
She says: "Looking to be best friends with Jason at some point."
Sue then walks around the perimeter of the rink banging a drum to ward off evil spirits.
Encouraging her, Gemma says: "Keep going darling. I think there was a spirit trapped. And it’s going now, we’re moving it along, on it’s way. We wish it well and love."
Even Gemma starts to think that Sue is going a bit too far.
"She’s hilarious her but she’s taking it to the extreme," admits Gemma.
Furious Dancing On Ice viewers took to Twitter to criticise Gemma.
One angry viewer said: "Oh fs. This isn’t the ‘Gemma Collins’ show. The amount of good skaters this year an u constantly facilitate her ‘need’ to be in the spotlight, for anything else other than her lack of skating. It’s boring. Hopefully this is the last week of her antics"
Another added: "Just another publicity stunt – people create their own bad vibes by their attitude and behaviour!
A third said: "And yet again DOI make it all about her. In other news all the other contestants have been practicing their routines with good old fashion hard work"
Viewers may not actually get to watch the clips that Dancing On Ice tweeted as it appears bosses have been forced to cut her segment from the show.
Shamanic practitioner Sue is alleging that this is down to broadcasting rules, but suggested it could be shown after the watershed.
In an Instragram post, she wrote: "Just heard that the footage of me #spaceclearing the #icerink has been pulled from the #DancingOnIce TV show as its considered #spiritual and cant go out before the watershed as it may negatively influence kids."
She added perhaps ITV could show it after the watershed and defended her craft.
She added: "Maybe they can show it after 9pm sometime? when you think of the stuff they have on the news before 9pm, let alone the violence and adverts that loads of kids see, this all intentions for peace and harmony with drumming, bells and feathers. #Banned but still going and ready to vote for Gemma and Matt #gemmacollins1."
*Dancing On Ice airs Sundays on ITV at 6pm
