GBBO viewers concerned as baker Laura drops F-bomb in epic show meltdownNovember 3, 2020
Great British Bake Off viewers were left gobsmacked on Tuesday as contestant Laura Adlington dropped the f-bomb as tempers flared over the ice cream showstopper.
The remaining six bakers were set their toughest challenge to date during the latest instalment of the Channel 4 baking competition as temperaures soared to over 30C on the day of filming.
Only three challenges stood between the contestants and the quarter final and the pressure got to some more than others.
The signature challenge featured a classic quiche, while the technical round required the bakers to master a popular retro sweet treat as part of an 80s theme across the whole episode.
Things heated up in the famous tent as the bakers attempted to make ice cream cakes in the scorching hot weather.
Frustrated contestant Laura turned the air blue and said: "Oh god, oh god, oh f**k. Worse case scenario, it has not set. It's a f**king mess," with the swear words being beeped out.
GBBO viewers at home rushed to their keyboards to support Laura' after her foul-mouthed meltdown.
Taking to Twitter, one penned: "Laura swears like a trooper, girl after my own heart."
Another added: "Poor Laura! Protect her at all costs."
A third said: "Loving Laura just slamming the door on the ice cream cake…that's 2020 summed up perfectly."
While a fourth added: "Chin up, Laura – could've been worse."
It wasn't only Laura who felt the heat in tent as Lottie Bedlow struggled to work in the hot weather.
Cooling off with a wet tea towel around her neck, she said: "I am so hot. This isn’t going to work, you’re joking me."
Host Matt Lucas scolded the GBBO judges for setting the ice cream challenge on such a hot day but Paul Hollywood simply replied: "We didn’t know that."
