For Life is ABC’s latest legal drama, created by Hank Steinberg and Power’s Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. When is For Life season 2 out?

For Life season two was given the green light by ABC on Monday, June 16.

The renewal comes just one month after the series concluded on ABC.

Confirming the news, creator Curtis Jackson said: “For Life just got renewed for season two by ABC!

“It’s more than just a show, it’s a fight for justice and we’re keeping the fight going. Isaac Wright Jr stood up to the system and won his freedom and now more than ever, we need to keep telling the story inspired by his life.

“Creator Hank Steinberg and his team of writers are ready to continue exploring and exposing the flaws in the system which is so important now more than ever. I told you it would happen.”

Steinberg added: “It has been a profound honour working with Isaac Wright, Jr. and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson to create a show that, through the prism of Isaac’s experience in our broken criminal justice system, has been able to highlight the racial inequality that plagues this country.

“The show’s renewal will allow us to continue to do that and I am extremely grateful to Sony Pictures Television and ABC for all of their support.”

What will happen in For Life season 2?

The first series was based on the story of Isaac Wright Jr, who was wrongfully convicted on drug charges in 1991.

For Life follows the story of Aaron Wallace (played by Nicholas Pinnock), who becomes a lawyer behind bars, litigating cases for other inmates while fighting to overturn his own life sentence for a crime he did not commit.

Season one of For Life ended on a huge cliffhanger, with Aaron being given the chance at a re-trial.

The series shines a light on the challenges and flaws of the American legal and criminal justice system.

According to Deadline, there will be “some adjustments” to the concept of the second series.

Who will star in For Life season 2?

The entire main cast of For Life are expected to return for the second series.
This means, Nicholas Pinnock will reprise his role as lead character Aaron Wallace.

Pinnock is an English actor, best known for playing Jason Backland in Marcella and Leon in Top Boy.

Also expected to return are Games of Thrones star Indira Varma as Safiya Masry and Parenthood’s Joy Bryant as Marie Wallace.

Southland’s Dorian Missick should be back as Jamal Bishop and Boardwalk Empire’s Glenn Fleshler as Frank Foster.

Also likely to return are Tyla Harris, Mary Stuart Masterson, Boris McGiver and Timothy Busfield.

50 Cent also made an appearance in the first series as Cassius Dawkins,alongside Felonious Munk as Hassan Nawaz, so they may also return.
