EMMERDALE star Sally Dexter teases a possible return for the iconic character as a ghost in a festive storyline.

Emmerdale's 50th anniversary episodes kicked off with the death of Faith Dingle.

This led to Chas feeling ashamed for being with Al when her mum took her last breath.

Al told Chas he wants to leave if he can't be with her and gets into a car.

But Chas jumps in front of it to stop him from leaving. Has she had a change of heart?

Shortly after, a deadly storm hits The Dales and both Kerry and Chas are knocked down to the ground.

Who will Al save?

Actress Sally Dexter, 62, played Faith in Emmerdale since 2017, taking over from Gillian Jephcott, who played the role briefly in 2000 and 2004.

Sally teased a possible return to the soap as a ghost during Christmas time.

Speaking to The Sun at the Inside Soap Awards 2022, she said: "I would have no objection to face reincarnating" also suggesting she could reappear as a ghost.

Character Val Pollard similarly came back as a ghost for a few episodes, along with Eric Pollard.

Could Faith make a return in time for Christmas?

Sally revealed the pressures of portraying her cancer storyline.

She told The Sun: "Well, in a way you see a pressure and as much as you want to do it justice, because for that very reason, it's real.

"It matters. It matters we do it right. And I you know, I hope we did justice to it.

"And yes, it was it was very hard and it was knowing that there's people watching it, and we're going through it and people watching it and we're sitting next to somebody who's going through it. Yeah. As I say it was very important."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
