Emmerdale character Samson Dingle (played by Sam Hall) has been a regular on the ITV soap ever since he was born to Sam Dingle (James Hooton) and Alice Wilson (Ursula Holden-Gill) in 2006. The young Dingle has been played by Hall since 2009 with the actor growing up on-screen for Emmerdale fans to witness. So how old is Samson Dingle and what do we know about the teen actor who plays him?

Who plays Samson Dingle on Emmerdale?

Samson Dingle on Emmerdale is played by 15-year-old actor Sam Hall, although the character is younger.

Emmerdale viewers were first introduced to Hall on-screen when he landed the role as a toddler.

The ITV soap star took the role from fellow child actor Charlie Pell in 2009.

Soap fans have witness Hall grow from a child to a teen and will see him more and more on-screen in the wake of his grandmother Lisa Dingle’s (Jane Cox) harrowing illness storyline.

How old is Samson Dingle on Emmerdale?

While Hall may be 15 and born in 2004, the Dingle character is actually two years younger.

Samson was born on January 12, 2006, to Sam Dingle and Alice Wilson.

When Hall took on the role of Samson in 2009, he would’ve been five-years-old.

Since then, he’s racked up over 150 appearances on Emmerdale.

Emmerdale is still Hall’s only major acting role on-screen.

The actor has appeared on ITV talk show This Morning opposite Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, however.

He also starred in the ITV soap’s one-off special Emmerdale: The Dingles – For Richer for Poorer.

Hall’s set to find himself in the middle of a family tragedy in coming weeks on the ITV soap.

Grandmother Lisa returned to the village to tell him, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and the rest of the family about her illness.

Lisa revealed her illness is incurable and will result in her death soon.

Ahead of the character’s departure, she’ll remarry her long-term husband Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) in front of her family and friends.

Afterwards, soap fans will undoubtedly be left in tears when she bids farewell to Samson and the rest of the family in her final scenes.

How and when Lisa will leave Emmerdale remains unknown at the time this article is written.

Emmerdale continues on weeknights at 7pm on ITV.
