Emmerdale airs another sudden exit after Rishi's death

Emmerdale has said goodbye to another member of the Sharma clan in the wake of Rishi’s (Bhasker Patel) sudden death last week, with his ex-wife Georgia (Lin Blakeley) bidding farewell to the village.
Georgia, as viewers know, rocked up last week ahead of Jai’s (Chris Bisson) wedding to Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), but soon found herself embroiled in a family war over her son’s true parentage.
Jai, who found Rishi wasn’t his biological father, demanded answers from mum Georgia, with Rishi finally revealing that his younger brother Amit is Jai’s dad.
The revelation was hard for Jai to process, but he ultimately agree to let Rishi attend his wedding despite the animosity between them.
Rishi, however, failed to show up, with subsequent scenes revealing that he’d tragically died on his way to the ceremony, with Jai discovering his body at the bottom of the stairs at Holdgate.
Monday’s (July 31) edition of the ITV soap picked up the following day, with emotions running high at Mulberry, as Jai lashed out at both Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), who he blamed for Rishi’s demise, and son Archie Breckle (Kai Assi).

Georgia, meanwhile, broke down in tears, revealing to Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) that she didn’t know how to help, feeling like she’s getting under everyone’s feet.
As a result, the matriarch decided to head to London to help daughter Priya Kotecha (Fiona Wade), who has been struggling since being notified of her dad’s death.
Georgia subsequently said goodbye to her loved ones, before getting into a taxi and leaving the village.
After his mum’s departure, Jai made things right with both Suni and Archie and lit candles around a picture of their beloved Rishi to remember the patriarch in a special moment.
