Ed Sheeran to unveil latest song at TikTok’s UEFA Euro 2020 Show this month

June 4, 2021

ED SHEERAN is finally making a music comeback by unveiling his latest song at a huge gig, I can exclusively reveal.

The superstar, who has been on hiatus for 18 months, has signed up to play at TikTok’s UEFA Euro 2020 Show this month at the grounds of his beloved Ipswich Town football club.

And fans worried they won’t be able to get tickets to the show at Portman Road needn’t worry, as it will be free to stream.

The TikTok concert comes after I revealed Ed had signed a deal to become the face of the video app.

An insider said: “Ed’s major deal was all linked up to this gig — and its going to be amazing. The venue holds a very special place in Ed’s heart.

“As well as singing some of his classic songs, he will be performing his as-yet-unheard single for the first time ever. Ed has kept details of the track, including the name, under wraps but fans are in for a real treat.”

The show takes place at 9pm on Friday, June 25 — and fans can watch it live for free simply by downloading the TikTok app.

It will be available again the next day here and streaming globally again on both June 26 and July 9.

The concert will be the first major show Ed has performed since his last gig at Chantry Park in Ipswich in August 2019.

Confirming the TikTok appearance, Ed said: “I can’t wait to perform at TikTok’s UEFA Euro 2020 Show live from Portman Road. It’s a place I love and I’m looking forward to performing some fan faves as well as my new track for the first time.”

Yesterday Ed teased fans into thinking that his new single could be a collaboration with Courteney Cox, after he posted a video of them performing together.

The pair have become good pals, after being introduced by Courteney’s partner, Snow Patrol frontman Johnny McDaid, who helped write smash hit Shape Of You and other songs for Ed.

Ed shared a picture of them on Instagram doing a snippet of a never-before-heard song, with the Friends actress playing along on a piano as Ed sang some notes and played his guitar.

I think it’s more likely that Courteney was simply jamming along with Ed for fun, but either way, I predict this new tune is going to be an absolute banger. See you on June 25!

Paul: I write with John

IT’S great to hear that The Beatles are still making music together, as Paul McCartney explains.

The singer says he still consults Fab Four band-mate John Lennon on lyrics for his songs, 40 years after his death.

Macca said: “The good thing about writing with John in the old days was that he or I would write a line and I would go, ‘No, no, no, wait a minute, that line is from West Side Story or that’s from a Bob Dylan song’.

"He would then say, ‘Oh, yeah, OK’. And similarly he would do it with me if I was going somewhere which was a little bit plagiarising and he would say, ‘Isn’t that so and so?’. Which was good because we could police each other.

“Now that he has passed away, I will check my songs with him. I will write a line and go, ‘Oh my God, this is getting a bit sickly’, and then think, ‘Wait a minute would I have got away with this with John?’ – and then his voice would come back, ‘No’, and I think ‘I’d better change this’.”

In a chat with US singer Phoebe Bridgers, Paul added: “We were very good at telling each other this or that doesn’t work, so let’s change it – and that was a nice thing.

“It’s always great when you change it because sometimes you get something better.”

Roxy is ace in lace

ROXY Horner gave her fans a thrill in this lacy top during a night out.

The model teamed the white crop top with a pair of high-waisted black trousers.

She was spotted partying at the Victoria app summer dinner, hosted by fashion designer Joshua Kane, at Home House in central London.
After enjoying posh food and champagne, Roxy was spotted dancing on tables with her pals until the early hours of yesterday.

Her comedian boyfriend Jack Whitehall was snapped picking her up from the private members’ club later on.

Ever the fashionista, Roxy changed into a more comfortable outfit for the journey home and was photographed leaving the event in loose-fitting cream trousers and a different crop top.

I wonder if they finished the night off like I would, with a quick stop at McDonald’s drive-thru for a burger to soak up the booze?

Solo Jesy back with ballad

SHE promised fans her debut album wasn’t far off from being finished – and now Jesy Nelson has come up with the goods.

The former Little Mix singer, who quit the group in December after nine years, has teased fans with a first listen to her new sound.

Jesy posted the short clip on Instagram on Wednesday with a caption that simply said: “Loading . . . ”

The video revealed her singing a mournful-sounding ballad including the lyrics: “Sorry that you’re back so soon, it’s OK.”

Jesy signed a solo deal with Polydor just a couple of weeks ago. She said last month of her new sound: “I’m in the studio just having fun.

“I loved the music I made with Little Mix but it wasn’t the kind of music I listen to. It just feels so nice to be making music I love.

“Music is my life. It’s so powerful for me. I feel really content and happy. It’s the weirdest, best feeling in the world.”

Dua gives thanks to trolls

HER last album Future Nostalgia went straight to No1 on its release last year.

Now Dua Lipa has revealed some of her recent success is down to online trolls, who inspired her to push herself harder.

Speaking directly to her fans on Instagram, the Physical singer, who won two Brit Awards at last month’s bash, said: “I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been listening to my music from the very beginning.

“It’s been four years since my debut album and I’m so grateful for all the incredible opportunities and amazing people I’ve met and incredible lessons I’ve learned.

“Touring for, like, three years, getting bullied online, which made me want to dance my a*** off and just really get better – so thank you so much. For all things good and bad, for helping me grow. I’m for ever grateful, and excited for you to see what we’ve got coming up.”

I can’t wait to hear it.

New barn-y over Beckham estate

LOOKS like it’s Beck to square one yet again for David and Victoria Beckham as they continue work on their sprawling country estate.

The couple have come up against repeated obstacles at their luxurious Cotswolds home and now they’re facing yet another headache.

Plans for a “super barn”, which would house their fleet of farm vehicles, ride-on lawnmowers and tennis equipment, have hit a snag with West Oxfordshire district council’s biodiversity team.

After Posh and Becks applied for permission for the three-bay machinery store, the planning unit raised concerns about how the 12m by 4m structure would affect protect- ed species in the area.

An insider said: “David and Victoria are used to their plans causing a stir with the council but they’ve taken so much care in all the details for their plans that they are confident it will pass.

“They’ve woven ecology into the design of the building and it will have room for nesting birds, as well as bat boxes.

“It’s just annoying they have to wait for decisions like this as it slows everything down, but that comes with the territory.”

Before they can move forward with building the barn, the council is demanding a new report into the ecological impacts of the scheme.

Last year David and Victoria faced conflict with locals over plans for an enormous ornamental lake, complete with an island in the middle, in the grounds of their home near the village of Great Tew.

Neighbours were up in arms after the Beckhams’ plans for the lake were first put forward.

That time the couple were victorious, and the work was completed at the beginning of this year.

They have also asked for permission to build a 24-hour security gatehouse and a 3,000-bottle wine cellar with a linking tunnel.

You can say what you like about their plans, but their country pile sounds very plush indeed.

I for one would not turn down an invite for a night Chez Beckham.

DJ's knee is Boris to a 'T'

DJ Arielle Free is the bee’s knees in radio as her stock continues to rise. But it’s her actual knee that is creating a lot of interest in the Radio 1 presenter right now.

Fans have been double-taking when they see her pins, as they claim one of them is a dead ringer for Prime Minister Boris Johnson's mug.

While co-hosting the afternoon show with Nick Grimshaw on Wednesday, Arielle told listeners: “My knee actually looks like Boris Johnson. It’s been pointed out to me in numerous pictures.”

Grimmy joked: “Congratulations to your knee’s recent marriage.”
Take a look at my pictures above of Arielle’s knees and BoJo, and make up your mind.

It’s just a shame Arielle is on the radio.

Billie unveils new Amazin’ album

BILLIE EILISH will unveil new music on Amazon’s upcoming Prime Day Show.

The three-part musical special, which will be available on Prime Video from June 17, will see her performing songs from her highly anticipated second album, Happier Than Ever.

Kid Cudi and H.E.R will also perform sets on the Amazon special.

  • FOLLOWING the release of new single Method To Madness, Indie band The Wombats have announced their biggest headline show to date. The group, led by Matthew Murphy, will play at London’s O2 Arena on April 15 for a one-off special event, where they’ll perform all their hits, including Greek Tragedy and Moving To New York.

Go Rudimental for Austria fest

FREEZING festival Snowbombing is back next year between April 4-9 in Mayrhofen, Austria.

Acts including Rudimental Gorgon City will play at the bash in the mountains.

Closer to home, Rag ’N’ Bone Man has added another date to his series of shows as part of Forest Live next June.

He will play four woodland gigs, including at Thetford Forest, Suffolk on June 16, with tickets on sale now.

Madison feeling recklesss

GIVEN how busy she has been of late, it is no wonder Madison Beer needed a sit down.

The singer, posing here in a white skirt and ruffled shirt, drops her latest single Reckless today.

The track, taken from her next music project, appears to be born out of heartbreak.

Madison said: “Reckless was written about how easy it is for some people in relationships to hurt others and move on without any guilt. It’s so important to find that balance in every relationship and knowing when to move on if you can’t.”

Madison is not the only exciting artist back with new music today, as Calvin Harris drops a dance track, By Your Side, with Tom Grennan.

The Scottish DJ’s upbeat club anthems are just what we need ahead of June 21 when we finally come out of lockdown.
