EastEnders fans are desperate to find out whether murderous Gray Atkins will get his comeuppance and now star Toby Alexander Smith has dropped a huge hint over his fate.

In recent months in the Square, Gray has somehow managed to keep under wraps the fact he is very dangerous indeed, having killed both his wife Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer) and Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw White).

Gray’s mood has worsened further in recent weeks after the legal eagle finally lost his job at his firm and has been left with money worries and, with more trouble on the horizon, his days in Walford look increasingly numbered.

Speaking today on Loose Women, actor Toby gave viewers some much-needed gossip surrounding the possible discovery of his character’s evil ways.

Asked by host Kay Burley when his alter-ego might be getting his comeuppance, Toby joked: ‘I mean I’m asking the same question, he needs to be caught!’

But, it doesn’t seem viewers will have too long left to wait to see Gray get everything that’s coming to him as Toby promised things will go down in ‘true soap-fashion.’

The star added: ‘No, his comeuppance is definitely on the cards, when that may be, I still don’t know.’

‘I’m sure he’ll be punished in true soap fashion!’ Toby teased.

But could this mean current hero-of-the-hour Gray will find himself killed off in explosive scenes to come when his crimes are finally out in the open?

Gray is set to be dealt with even more complications in the episodes to come as he reveals to Whitney (Shona McGarty) his father is dying in a hospice.

He has kept shtum about his family, with them never being shown on-screen, but fans know he had a difficult relationship with his dad growing up which contributed to his violent ways.

However, he tells Whitney his father wants to see him after a call acts as their first form of contact in 10 years.

But will he go and visit his dad, who he has previously expressed he did not have a good relationship with as a child, in a further twist in Gray’s complex story?

Loose Women returns Monday 12.30pm on ITV.
