EastEnders star Letitia Dean has anxiety about taking over the Queen Vic

June 26, 2020

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is back where she belongs in EastEnders, as she takes over the Queen Vic once more.

With some assistance from Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Mick (Danny Dyer), Sharon managed to outsmart Phil (Steve McFadden) and reclaim her rightful place as the iconic boozer’s landlady.

The Walford legend has had some incredibly memorable stints behind the bar, and as we’re no doubt in store for another equally iconic one when the soap returns from its hiatus later this year.

Speaking to Inside Soap about how she feels in regards to being landlady once more, actress Letitia Dean said: ‘I’m excited and a bit nervous!

‘I haven’t been behind the bar for quite some time now, so it’ll feel like coming home. It’s just going to feel lovely again.

‘There will be that spotlight on whoever runs the pub, so you’re always going to have a bit of anxiety.

‘And taking over at a time such as this [with EastEnders on hiatus], that seems a double-whammy.

“I’m looking forward to it, though. Hopefully I can still pull a pint!

Letitia is excited to get back to work and film the next chapter of Sharon’s story.

She said: ‘I’ve certainly missed seeing everybody

‘When lockdown first started, you thought, “Oh OK, we’re not working!” as we are always quite busy.

‘But then of course, it hits you and you go, ‘Oh no! I really miss it and I want to go back!’ I think that it has been quite difficult for everybody.

‘I’ve been involved in the show for so long and I just can’t wait to return.’

EastEnders: Secrets From The Square continues Monday 29 June at 8pm on BBC One. The iconic Sharongate episode re-airs on Tuesday 30th June at 7:30pm on BBC One.
