EastEnders star Jessie Wallace has become a grandma!
Jessie – who plays Kat Slater in the BBC One soap – shared the happy news on her social media, revealing to her followers she now has a new grandson.
Uploading a picture of the baby, Jessie captioned the post: ‘Welcome to the world, my grandson SJ. You are loved, cherished and adored’.
Jessie has one daughter, Tallulah, who is 17 years old.
A source, who knows Jessie, told the Mail Online: ‘Jessie is chuffed to bits about being a grandmother. Her close circle knew Tallulah was pregnant and how excited the family were. They’re both looking forward to making a lifetime of memories.’
Jessie has played the role of Kat Slater on and off since 2000.
Kat is currently in a relationship with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), but is facing a stressful time as she attempts to juggle running her taxi firm business, Phil’s businesses and being a mum to Bert, Ernie and Tommy.
Kat’s son, Tommy, is currently being bullied at school and pushed his mum after she accused him of stealing Mitch’s (Roger Griffiths) wages.
Unbeknownst to them both, Jean (Gillian Wright) was responsible for stealing the cash.
