EastEnders’ Alfie Moon (played by Shane Richie) has been determined to win back Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) ever since he returned to Walford despite her engagement to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden). However, his latest move to impress his ex-wife will leave Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) confused and fearful about his mum’s future with Phil.

In next week’s episodes, Alfie’s preparations for the panto continue but he’s not happy with Honey Mitchell’s (Emma Barton) starring role.

Disaster strikes when Honey suddenly falls ill but Alfie begs Kat to step in.

As the panto day arrives, Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Felix Baker (Matthew Morrison) fight over solos and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) panics when he realises his costume is too tight.

Meanwhile, all Alfie is interested in is rehearsing Prince Carlo and Snow White’s kiss.

However, Kat refuses to kiss him, scuppering Alfie’s plans.

The panto begins but the cast are puzzled by last-minute changes to the script now Kat is Snow White.

Kat and Alfie have to ad-lib to make it work but the panto is a huge success.

At the end, the wheeler-dealer makes a huge speech which is obviously about his love for Kat before going in for a kiss.

After the panto, Kat’s furious with Alfie for attempting to kiss her when she said no.

She demands he explains himself but Alfie professes his love for the mother of his children and reiterates that they’re meant for each other.

Later in the week, DCI Samantha Keeble (Alison Newman) pays Kat a visit and orders her to get Phil back in Walford.

The next day Kat wakes up with a hangover and finds Alfie in high spirits in the kitchen.

Has Kat told Alfie what he wants to hear after spending the night reminiscing?

As they argue, Tommy walks in and runs off upset with his parents.

Kat rushes after him and her son tells her she seems much happier around Alfie.

Kat lashes out and orders Alfie to leave Walford to avoid any more confusion for their boys.

He’s heartbroken but Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) tells him he needs to earn his place in Kat’s life after spending years away.

Elsewhere, Kat opens up to Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) about her feelings over Alfie and Phil.

Alfie pulls off a grand gesture and Kat agrees he can be a part of a big Moon Christmas as a family.

When Phil suddenly turns up Kat’s initial confusion over her feelings turns to anger when she realises why he’s returned.

Alfie wants Kat and the boys at the Christmas carol fundraiser but Phil shoots him down.

The frustrated father doesn’t take no for an answer and confronts the Mitchell hard man but will Phil change his mind?

It’s clear Kat has a decision to make as Alfie’s bond with their children grows but will she be able to forgive him for abandoning her or will Phil convince her they deserve a new life together?

Meanwhile, Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) is furious with Phil for leaving as he reveals Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Hardwick) tragic cancer diagnosis.

EastEnders airs on BBC One from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm.
