April 18, 2023

EastEnders is set for heartbreaking scenes next week on the BBC One soap as Lola Pearce makes important life decisions after learning that she only has six months left to live.

Only recently, Lola has come to terms with a brain tumour diagnosis, and despite knowing her days are numbered, she has continued to be an optimistic and uplifting presence for those around her.

However, in recent devastating scenes, Lola attended a hospital appointment early, where she was dealt the heartbreaking news that her cancer had progressed, meaning she now only has a mere six months left to live.

In upcoming scenes, Billy Mitchell arrives home from Portugal, and Lola worries about breaking the tragic news about her prognosis.

Later, when Billy excitedly talks about taking the family for a summer holiday in Portugal, Lola is forced to tell him the truth.

He’s utterly devastated and consumed by anger as she explains she’s only got months to live.

Lola is distraught and later tells Jay that with time running out, she needs to get some essential things in order. Most importantly, she wants him to adopt Lexi…

Will Jay accept and what will Lexi's dad Ben Mitchell think?

Elsewhere, the gloves are on in Walford as Martin and Ben prepare for their boxing match.

But just before the fight, Ben’s approached by a police officer and is told Lewis has been arrested for rape again.

Callum begs enraged Ben to reconsider the fight, but he won’t be dissuaded.

Ben continues to struggle and Kathy encourages him to lean on Callum for support.

After the fight, Ben berates Zack for backing out of the boxing match so Zack announces his HIV positive diagnosis to everyone in The Vic.

Ravi in particular is shocked by the revelation but it’s Nugget who reads him the riot act about his ignorance.

Later on, Sharon is shocked by Zack’s reaction when she asks him to be Albie’s godfather.

Also, Amy plots to bring her family together and secretly invites Denise to her school counselling session with Jack.

Chelsea also offers her support to the Brannings, but it’s clear she hasn’t forgiven her mum.
