Emmerdale is tugging on fans’ heartstrings as they know Paddy Kirk (played by Dominic Brunt) is going to soon be left devastated. His wife Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) has been carrying on behind his back with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman), someone who he hates, for months. The ITV soap has been teasing Paddy finding out for quite some time and while Chas’s affair remains a secret for now, everyone knows secrets don’t stay that way for long in the village.

Who is Emmerdale’s Paddy Kirk star Dominic Brunt married to?

Paddy star Dominic Brunt is married to fellow actor Joanne Mitchell after meeting for the first time while they were studying at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

It isn’t clear exactly how long they had been dating for but they went on to tie the knot in April 2003.

Emmerdale fans will best know Joanne as one of Dominic’s co-stars, the manipulative Sandra Flaherty.

She had been in the soap a few times over the years, including as Midwife Yeo and Susan Davies before joining as Sandra in 2016.

In terms of her stage career, Joanne was Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth’s Lady McDuff.

Her passions also lie with working behind the camera as she and Dominic co-founded Mitchell Brunt Films in 2011, often taking on producer and writing responsibilities.

It isn’t all about work though for the couple as they also have two children together.

Dominic previously went on This Morning to talk about their son Danny who had a heart operation at eight months old.

He said. “At the time it’s the most horrific thing to have to go through as a parent and obviously as a child, but he’s football-mad now, he’s completely fine.

“He has check-ups once a year for the rest of his life, but thankfully Leeds Royal Infirmary were great and the children’s heart surgery fund have been great.”

The couple share three dogs together who Joanne regularly shares pictures of on Instagram.

There are also various photographs of herself cosying up to her husband Dominic.

Like everyone during the coronavirus pandemic, birthdays weren’t exactly lavish occasions, not even for the famous.

Joanne marked a major milestone with a cute picture of them, clinking their champagne glasses together.

She wrote: “A big happy locked down 50th birthday to one of the best.

“My partner in crime in so many things, @dominicbrunt. Love you & all that”.

As Paddy is still none the wiser regarding his unfaithful wife, Sandra is busy elsewhere in the village, scheming.

She is eager to get between her daughter Liv (Isobel Steele) and her husband Vinny (Bradley Johnson) in the hope of wrecking their relationship for good.

Sandra even tried to secretly set him up with Gabby (Rosie Bentham) but will she really cause a rift between the love birds?

Emmerdale airs four nights a week at 7.30pm on ITV.
