Death in Paradise: Ralf Little speaks about being away from home

Death in Paradise star Ralf Little, who is best known as DI Neville Parker, has answered the burning questions put to him by fans.

The actor dedicated a Sunday afternoon to an Instagram Live where he spoke about filming for the new series.

One fan asked: “Is Danny John-Jules still on Death in Paradise?”

Ralf confirmed he wasn’t but told fans the Dwayne Myers star was “always welcome back” suggesting viewers could be set for a surprise appearance.

“No, he’s not,” Ralf told fans. “He came back for the last Christmas special and was a legend.

“He’s a legend Danny. I used to watch Red Dwarf with Danny. He’s a real hero of mine and what a dude he is.

“He is always welcome. He’s always welcome back as far as I’m concerned.”

Dwayne returned to the much-loved BBC series for the Christmas special in 2022 as he was asked to assist on a case while Florence Cassell (played by Josephine Jobert) was away with her family.

Dwayne was also the longest-serving police office at Honoré Police Station so it wouldn’t be surprising if he returned once more.

Earlier this week, Ralf left fans “devastated” as he shared secrets from behind-the-scenes of the series.

As he filmed for season 13, he explained how Neville’s companion Harry the lizard is brought to life.

He told fans: “So get this. We used to do Harry with a silver ball that they used to use to reflect the light.

“They then had to CGI him in but that’s all changed now, we have more technology, they use a different kind of camera.”

Ralf panned the camera to show a plastic lizard which he used as a marker of where to look.

“This is now what I work with,” he continued. “There he is.”

Fans were devastated to learn Harry wasn’t real but in fact a plastic model which was then enhanced with technology.

Death in Paradise series 1-12 is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
