DANCING On Ice's Yebin Mok has praised the NHS from her hospital bed after she was stabbed by an ice skate during practice with her celebrity partner Graham Bell.
It was revealed yesterday that the 36-year-old pro skater's injury was so severe that it "exposed her tendons".
In light of her injury, the American athlete took to her Instagram to share a photo from her hospital bed and thanked the staff at Watford hospital for caring for her.
She penned alongside the selfie: "#NHS appreciation post!!!
"Just massive thank you the staff of Watford hospital! Doctors, surgeons, nurses, scrub nurses, operating team, anaesthetists, urgent care, recovery care.
"They were all so kind, so caring and looked after me so well on my overnight on Monday. 🙏🙏 They truly are heroes!" she added.
"So grateful for the care I received. And my leg is feeling so much better already thanks to them 💞.
"Had a glimpse of what @drtom_onice and all of our dr. Family members and friends who works in NHS might go through in their day.
"And I’m just thankful & proud. You guys are simply amazing 🌟👏👏👏
We citizens are lucky to have you. ❤️"
Yesterday, The Sun Online reported that Dancing On Ice faced disaster ahead of its launch this weekend after Yebin suffered a horror accident.
The pro was "stabbed" with a skate's blade, and the injury was so severe that it "exposed her tendons".
The show's hosts, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, admitted on This Morning they'd seen a gruesome photo from the accident that they are unable to share.
Holly admitted that she was unable to even look at the gory image, with the pair sending Yebin their love and a get well soon message.
Holly told viewers: "This week Olympic skier Graham Bell and his partner Yebin had a freak accident, which resulted in her having a laceration on her leg."
Phil continued: "We had a Zoom meeting yesterday with the team and they showed us a picture that we can not show you on TV.
"Holly couldn't even look at it, she had to look away – and it was a very nasty stab wound from an ice blade.
"You could see the tendons, it's a very dangerous show."
The presenters went on to confirm that comic Rufus Hound will be skating this weekend instead of Graham, who will return next week with new partner Karina Manta while Yebin recovers.
With the seriousness of her injury, Holly and Phil said that the professional skater will be "out of the show for quite a few weeks".
A show rep added: "This week Olympic Skier Graham Bell and his partner Yebin had a freak accident which resulted in her having a laceration in her leg.
"Effectively it’s a stab wound from an ice blade which has meant she will be out of the show for a few weeks.
"Yebin received immediate medical attention and is now resting and healing."
