Coronation Street matriarch Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) has been through quite the rollercoaster of emotions over the last few weeks after her relationship with Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) was thrown into chaos.

After escaping an abusive marriage to her ex-husband Geoff Metcalfe in 2020, the mum-of-one struggled to let down her guard to avoid herself getting hurt again.

But in recent months, the beloved star managed to open up to the former homeless man as they gradually grew closer as time went on.

So naturally the raven-haired beauty was left utterly heartbroken last week when she discovered the silver haired fox had spent 27 years in prison for the murder of a woman named Charlie.

The loveable rogue was later arrested for breaching the peace after he got into an argument with Yasmeen when he came clean about his heinous past.

Now, Yasmeen will be forced to make the difficult decision as to whether or not she believes Stu while continues to profess his innocence against the almost 30-year sentence in upcoming episodes.

This week, Yasmeen’s grandson Zeedan and Alya make it their mission to uncover the truth behind the identity of the real killer in Weatherfield.

At the start of the week, the pair work together to comb through the case files where they come across Stu’s interview tapes which proves that he was questioned for more than 10 hours straight with one suspicious tape missing.

While the pair continue to work on the secret files, Yasmeen visits Stu in prison where he tells her the whole story of his affair with Charlie.

Yasmeen later talks to his solicitor Norman where legal advisor confirms that Stu was coerced into making a confession and hints at his possible innocence.

Two days later, as Stu walk out of the prison gates, he’s shocked to see Yasmeen waiting for him where she admits that she believes the newcomer is innocent.

On the car ride home, the brunette beauty convinced him to let his daughter Bridget know of his intentions as she welcomes him into her home at No. 6.

Towards the end of the week, Tim and Elaine beg Yasmeen to rethink allowing Stu to live with her and helping the former homeless man to clear his name.

After overhearing all of the whispers of advice throughout the week, Stu offers to pack his bags and relieve her of the stress, but Yasmeen insists he stays as she rightly points out running away will only make him look guilty.
