Corrie star Ryan Clayton joins Waterloo Road

Coronation Street star Ryan Clayton has joined the cast of Waterloo Road.

Ryan – who played Josh Tucker in the ITV soap – posted on his Twitter revealing the news.

‘Day 1’, he wrote alongside an image of what appears to be the door to his dressing room.

He was handed down a fifteen-year custodial sentence.

Ryan isn’t the only former Corrie star joining the cast of the school based drama.

Rachel Leskovac, who played Natasha Blakeman in the ITV soap, has been cast as the new Head of English, Coral Walker.

Michelle Connor actress Kym Marsh will play the role of Nicky Walters, a school canteen worker and mum of two pupils.

Further casting announcements also reveal Jo Coffey (EastEnders) joining the school as a PA, Vincent Jerome (Sins of Solitude) playing Lindon King, joint Deputy Head with James Baxter (Alma’s Not Normal) cast as Joe Casey – also Deputy Head.

The news keeps coming as Sonia Ibrahim (Coronation Street) joins as Jamilah, a social worker, Shauna Shim as the school’s music teacher, Neil Fitzmaurice (Brassic) the school’s history teacher and Katherine Pearce (Rules of the Game) playing the role of Amy Spratt – an early career teacher.

Adam Thomas, Angela Griffin and Katie Griffiths are three cast members reprising their roles as Donte, Kim Campbell and Chlo.
