Coronation Street's Rob Mallard 'splits' from boyfriend after six monthsDecember 18, 2018
Ben seemed to confirm their split today in a series of Instagram posts which appeared to be aimed at the 26-year-old actor, who plays Daniel Osbourne in the ITV soap.
It comes just days after the pair went public at the Coronation Street Christmas party.
Ben posted a picture of a broken heart on Sunday night before posting more cryptic messages online today.
One included a picture of him and Rob with reference to Ariana Grande's hit song, Thank You, Next.
The Sun Online has contacted Rob’s representatives and Ben for comment.
Ben has made no secret of how smitten he is with the actor, who plays Daniel Osbourne in the hit ITV soap.
Sharing pictures of himself and Rob at the Corrie Christmas bash, Ben called Rob his “world”.
He also praised his skills as an actor and said of their romance: “If anyone could teach me how to spell happy all over again it would be him.
“Everything about you is just perfect. Robert Mallard you’re my hero.”
Rob revealed he was gay in an interview with the Gay Times in January this year.
He explained: “I never planned to keep it quiet that I was gay.
“The only concern I had at first was if I'm with a female character, will an audience who knows I'm gay in real life believe it?
“But that was just my own fears because I do believe they will.
“I was very fortunate, I had a very non-plussed family and it's become the subject of warm, friendly general humour over the years.”
Rob’s character Daniel is currently caught up in an emotional storyline with Sinead Tinker, who is battling cancer.
Katie McGlynn, who plays Sinead, and Rob have been praised by viewers for their work on the heartbreaking plot.
