Coronation Street serial killer Stephen Reid sets his sights on next murder victim

Coronation Street villain Stephen Reid has revealed the next person he intends to add to his body count, as the scheming killer took out a life insurance policy for his future wife Elaine Jones.

The sinister businessman has already killed three people in his attempt to amass a fortune and cover his dodgy dealings, with the mild mannered Elaine the latest victim to fall under his spell.

Elaine has been smitten with Stephen since he first arrived on the cobbles, with Stephen stringing her along after discovering she had quite a nest egg saved up.

Taking his plans one step further, Stephen wormed his way into her good graces and even recently proposed in a bid to get closer to her and steal her cash.

Yet after being warned off by her son Tim, who was adamant that Stephen was after her money, the pair even agreed to elope to Las Vegas to start a brand new life.

But on Wednesday’s episode, Stephen revealed he had far more sinister intentions for Elaine, when a text message on his phone revealed he had taken out a life insurance policy for her, with fans convinced this now means she’ll be the next name on his already growing kill list.

Taking to social media to share their thoughts, fans were quick to weigh in on what the latest development could mean going forwards.

“If Elaine does end up dead, she deserves it for being so stupid when it comes to Stephen,” wrote one fan.

“I can see Stephen attempting to kill Elaine after the wedding and then Tim walks in and he has heart attack and Stephen finishes him off and Faye leaves with Jackson and Miley after the funeral(s),” speculated another.

A third however suggested a massive twist as they theorised: “It would be funny if Stephen died in an accident with all his crimes undiscovered and Elaine got a massive life insurance payout.”

Another fan also approved of this plan, as they added: “ I don't want Stephen to kill Elaine, it would be quite bad for her character considering everything with Geoff.”

“If she finds out what Stephen's up to first maybe I'd let it slide but she'd have to have a good reaction/expose him and not just be the victim twice.”
