CORONATION Street fans spot dodgy inmate during prison scene with Stu Carpenter and Zeedan Nazir.

In Wednesday's episode of the ITV soap, Zeedan went against Yasmeen's wishes in order to hear Stu out who is in prison for killing a woman 27 years ago.

He revealed he had an affair behind his ex-wife Lucy's back and when the woman was found dead, he was the prime suspect.

In the scene, Zeedan began by telling Stu to not to contact Yasmeen ever again.

But, Stu vowed to prove he didn't commit the crimes he is accused of.

Zeedan appeared to start to believe Stu as he revealed he tried to buy back his case files but couldn't pay the legal fees.

Stu said: "If I was guilty why would I bother dredging it all up again."

He added: "I'm going to fight to prove my innocence because for the first time in my life I have someone worth fighting for."

Does Zeedan believe him? Will he pay for his legal fees?

However, viewers were distracted by another inmate in the visitation room with something rather sinister about him.

He sipped on a cup of water with another across from him but no visitor to drink it.

Taking to Twitter to share the screenshot, fans were also sure they’d seen the same inmate listening to Stu’s conversation.

Could the dodgy inmate be up to something sinister?

Fans seem to think so as one commented: "This miscarriage of justice stuff is very interesting but I’m more concerned about why the next prisoner over is sitting at a table on his own with two cups of water?”

Another wrote: “Yes and he was the same prisoner that was waiting for the phone listening to his conversation at the end of the show.

“Is this related or are they just saving money on the show LOL.”

A third penned: “I’m sure he’s up to something, he was watching Stu on the phone too. Threatening him and keeping an eye on him?”

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
